Scholarship Application Timeline

Applications for scholarship payments are accepted from January 1st through April 15th.

Scholarship applications are evaluated and awardees determined between April 16th and June 14th.

Checks are dispersed between June 15th and July 1st.

Available Scholarships

Entrepreneurial Scholarship 

Amount: $2500.00

Eligibility: The student is African American. The student must be enrolled at a Historically Black College or University for at least one semester. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student must be a U.S. citizen.  The student must demonstrate participation in activities outside the classroom, such as leadership roles, volunteer work, community involvement.

Essay Requirements: Produce an essay of 750 to 1000 words (3-4 pages double-spaced, 12-pt font)

Choose 1 of 4 topics:

  1. Write about your entrepreneurial goals or vision.
  2. Describe a past entrepreneurial experience (business, side hustle, project, nonprofit, innovation).
  3. Explain how entrepreneurship can solve a problem in your community or industry.
  4. Share how you plan to use entrepreneurship to create impact (economic, social, or technological).

Academic Scholarship 

Amount: $2500.00

Eligibility: The student is African American. The student must be enrolled at a Historically Black College or University for at least one semester. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student must be a U.S. citizen.  The student must demonstrate participation in activities outside the classroom, such as leadership roles, volunteer work, community involvement.

Essay Requirements: Produce an essay of 750 to 1000 words (3-4 pages double-spaced, 12-pt font)

Essay should include the following elements:

  1. Academic excellence – GPA, honors, coursework, intellectual curiosity.
  2. Leadership – involvement in school, community, or organizations.
  3. Service – volunteer work, giving back, mentorship.
  4. Goals & Ambition – clear career path or personal aspirations.
  5. Personal Story – a compelling narrative about resilience, growth, or passion.

Student Leadership 

Amount: $2500.00

Eligibility: The student is African American. The student must be enrolled at a Historically Black College or University for at least one semester. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student must be a U.S. citizen.  The student must demonstrate participation in activities outside the classroom, such as leadership roles, volunteer work, community involvement.

Essay should include all of the following elements:

  • Definition of Leadership

  • Share what leadership means to you personally.

  • Highlight values such as integrity, accountability, service, and vision.

  • Personal Leadership Experience

  • Describe times when you demonstrated leadership (school, community, work, sports, volunteer service, clubs, etc.).

  • Be specific—use examples with details about what you did, how you did it, and the results.

  • Impact on Others

  • Show how your leadership positively influenced your peers, school, or community.

  • Mention measurable results if possible (e.g., increased participation, improved outcomes, raised awareness).

  • Challenges and Growth

  • Talk about obstacles you faced as a leader and what you learned from them.

  • Scholarship committees value resilience and self-awareness.

  • Future Goals

  • Explain how you plan to use your leadership skills in college, your career, and beyond.

  • Tie your goals to the scholarship’s mission (service, innovation, diversity, etc.).

STEM Scholarship

Amount: $2500.00

Eligibility: The student is African American. The student must be enrolled at a Historically Black College or University for at least one semester. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student must be a U.S. citizen.  The student must demonstrate participation in activities outside the classroom, such as leadership roles, volunteer work, community involvement.

Essay Requirements: Produce an essay of 750 to 1000 words (3-4 pages double-spaced, 12-pt font)

Essay should include the following elements:

  • Personal Background: Challenges, achievements, or experiences that led you to pursue STEM.

  • Interest in STEM: Specific areas of science, technology, engineering, or math that excite you.

  • Career Goals: Your future ambitions and how a STEM degree will help you achieve them.

  • Impact on Community or Society: How your STEM work could solve real-world problems.

  • Leadership / Extracurriculars: Clubs, projects, research, internships, or volunteer work in STEM.
